This qualification is designed for students with an interest in food and nutrition. You will apply all the skills and knowledge learnt during key stage 3 rotation food and cookery sessions.

This course will provide students with experience of using different cooking skills and methods to enable them to use these within further education or apprenticeships.
Students could progress into employment or onto an apprenticeship. The understanding and skills gained through this qualification could be useful to progress onto an apprenticeship in the food industry through a variety of occupations that are available within the sector, such as kitchen assistant, catering assistant, chef, and sous chef.
The qualification has 2 assessments externally set by NCFE: one non-exam assessment and one written examined assessment.
